International Student Handbook: Withdrawal / Refund Policy

Useful information to help make your Northern Adventure the best it can be.

 

 

 

For Students Onsite

Student must attend in person if in Canada. Withdrawals by phone call or e-mail are not accepted. 

1.  Students who want to withdraw see the Advising Department and obtain an Advisor Ticket. An Advisor Ticket is a piece of paper you receive from an Advisor stating that you have spoken to one before withdrawing from a program.

2.  Students see the International Department clerk for a Withdrawal Form, the clerk will only provide withdrawal form if they have proof that they have seen an Advisor AND they provide an offer letter from a DLI institution, CAQ letter for Quebec, or plane ticket home or visitor visa.

3.  The International clerk will explain the necessary signatures and steps to complete the form – IT, Library, Coordinator, Student Services.

4.  Once the form is completed, it is returned to INTL Dept and initialed by the International clerk and sent to Student Records Officer for withdrawal.

$500 CDN Administrative fee for denial of the study permit application

OR

$1,859.96 CAD Administrative Fee applies (no exceptions) for withdrawals

It will take a minimum of eight weeks to process the refund, from the time a complete refund package is received by Northern College. The refund may be reduced due to bank fees and exchange rates that are beyond the control of Northern College.

For Students Off-Shore

Must submit the following documents to INTLPAYMENTS@northern.on.ca  Subject line of the email should state student’s application number and full legal name.

  • International Student Withdrawal form
  • Request for Refund
  • Proof of Visa Denial letter/Official Visa Denial email

Meeting the Criteria

Refunds will only be approved if requested before day 10 of the school semester.

Only students who request a withdrawal and meet the following criteria will receive an approval document from Northern College:

Meet all the withdrawal deadlines

Complete and submit all the required refund forms provided by the college

Provide a copy of an email sent by your agent, India Northern College Representative and International Services office

Provide a copy of a valid passport

Ask the Library
